Name monster

hi people

this is my name monster, i thought that it looked like a mouse because of the c and also the other letters joined together looked like a dress since we had to write in cursive for this to be able to make a name monster.

i decided that the 2 lines under the arms would kind of be like a support for the bags because i feel like she would want to sell bags and purses to other people as a job maybe, and i think it turned out pretty well, it just looks a bit weird and unusual but there are like straps like a backpack for her to wear.

but i think i did well on designing the dress and the accessories because i really had to use my brain to think of something creative for her, but i should probably take the picture in a better location because its kind of hard to actually see the colours that i have added.

Kiwiana fish and chips slideshow

hi people 🙂

this is my Kiwiana slideshow, we are looking at fish and chips and its history.

i had to fill out some questions and make my own advertisement  / poster, i decided to draw a big bundle of fish and chips but it doesn’t really look like fish and chips in the photo but on paper it looks kind of like fish and chips…. 🙂 i added a fake phone number so that it actually looked like a real advertisement were you can go to but its not actually a fish and chips store.

i named it Fish chips and takeaway’s because i feel like a lot of people would also want other foods that aren’t fish and chips so, takeaways.

but i think next time i should take the photo in a lighter area so that its easier to see the writing and the picture since the picture should be the main focus of the advertisement / poster.

student teacher report

hi people:)

this week for the swimming task board we had a new list to choose from, here is my teacher report for my homeroom teacher Miss Ronald.

now i know…the picture of Miss Ronald is a bit warped buuuut it was so that it could fit, OKAY??

but putting that aside i had to make a copy of the slides then fill out the slides with the school name, the year level that they teach, and their name, on the next slide i had to grade her work based off of her skills in the subject written in each column, then i had to kind of leave like a little note at the end talking about how she can use her skills, and why its good.

i think i did well on the note on the end because i talked about how she can use her skills to teach without difficulties and other problems.

Summer learning journey hero and nemisis

hello people 🙂

for summer learning journey this week i have been making a hero and a nemesis, i haven’t decided what to name them yet so i’ll just call them red and blue.

i designed blue to look kind of like she came out from the deep parts of the ocean and since the deepest part of the ocean is very dark i gave her very dark coloured attire, i also made her hair look like algae with i think isn’t very obvious and difficult to actually look and this and go ” ah hey! that kinda looks like water algae:0″

but i made it so that the hair still looked cool and stylised which i feel i did very well at, also thanks Mrs Ferguson for giving me the idea of drawing a cat with a purple bow tie:) now… red, i made her wear some red Qipao attire ( Qipao : traditional Chinese attire that dates back to the qing dynasty ) and gave her a little sword, i also gave her 2 ribbons that is tying her 2 buns together and made them gold because in china gold symbols wealth and red symbols royalty.

i think i did well on making the designs creative and also very in story because blue’s story could be that she came from the deepest darkest place of the ocean which made her not know the land and sun light very well that might’ve made her a villain.

and for red her story might be that she cares too much about looks and neatness that she might have to fix her hair mid battle, and probably be known as the useless hero.

but next time i think that make the background match each other but overall.

I’m happy with it.

Tessellation and PB4L swimming task board empathy chart, tessellation, if i made a school slides.

hi people 😀

this is my chart for the pb4l task on the swimming task board, for this task we had to list down what empathy looks like, sounds like, and feels like, i wasn’t really sure what the feel like meant so i just added what you would feel like if somebody did show empathy to you in a difficult situation so i hope that was what it meant.

i think i did well on choosing what empathy sounds like because i added phrases that you would say in different situations like if someone got hurt or if they are lonely or not playing a game with their friends.

this is my second task from the swimming task board

i had to make tessellation with a website, i used this shape to make a honeycomb shape so that its a pretty pattern,

I think i did well on choosing the shape because the honeycomb kind of shape is very mesmerising and very natural looking which i like.

though i think next time i should make the colours a bit more desaturated because a bright yellow like this tends to strain the eyes and sometimes might cause your eyes to hurt a bit if stared at for too long.

Hi people

this is my if i built a school slides 🙂

i had a lot of trouble doing the girl one because they only had the boy sheet, i tried to trace it by folding the paper and tracing it by putting the paper in the window where the sun is but it ended up looking very blocky and not very neat, so i had to get a sharpie and draw it on and coloured it with a whiteboard marker.

i also tried to make the uniform match each other by also….using sharpie….

But i guess it kinda worked out, maybe. But i think it was worth the try, also i know the picture doesn’t really show the shoes but the shoes were coloured in pencil, yeah haha.

but i think i did well on the colour scheme and the overall layout of the sheet because i decided to glue on the sheet with the girl onto the original sheet so i didn’t have to take a photo of both sheets which would make it more difficult and annoying to blog and gluing it can also make it easier to store it in you tote tray or bag 🙂

But i think next time i should try to keep the colouring from the whiteboard marker more in the lines to make it more neat.

WALT think critically about texts.

Hi people

this week for reading we are focusing on sports related things like hockey, football and more. I am reading the book called Hooked on hockey, hooked on hockey is about a boy whose family all play hockey including him, he is in a hockey team with three other boys and one girl.

they play games every Sunday which means that he can only sleep in on Saturdays but the good thing about in door hockey is that their games are never cancelled so even if its raining or snowing they still play, whether that’s a good thing or not depends on if you like hockey or if you hate hockey.

sometimes they lose sometimes they win but the coach says its not about winning, its about trying your best and having fun.

i think i did well on the facts and the way i worded them, but i feel like next time maybe i should make the words line up a bit more and maybe add some more facts.

Ring ring poster

Hello people 🙂

unfortunately i did the wrong week for create tasks and book choices…but its too late because i already finished create task 3, so no turning back now ._.

but anyway, LAST week, we did lots of book choices and the book that I chose was Ring ring, the book Ring ring is about a family going camping everything was normal until they heard a weird sound, but turns out it was a [ redacted because i wont explain everything that’s on the poster ]

the book also features a Tui bird that can mimic a lot of different sounds like rings, chirps, and probably even sounds from other animals that are not birds! just like some parrots.

I tried to make the poster look like it was hiding in a bush but i feel like it looks more like a patch of grass, well to be honest…it is a patch of grass but it was close enough. I added a little shadow on the text so that it would stand out more and not blend in with the bright background.

i also added rocks so that it would be like…in a upwards angle??? I don’t know just pretend you suddenly transformed into an ant and is now seeing floating white text ??

I think i did well on the colour choice for the text because it kind of looks like clouds now that i look at it again haha, i think i also did well on the colour choice for the background as it adds a m,ore cartoony element to the poster.

Photo day

HELLO PEOPLE 😀

i totally did not forget about photo day and i can promise you i am not writing this in bed last minute before photo days ends … 🙂

but..i decided to take a photo with my oh so very handsome cat Cookie that would not want to look at the book but thanks to my mum we made it work! i read the book Drama even though it wasn’t my favourite book, why I hear you ask? well, it’s because my favourite book is still at school in my tote tray 🙁 i wanted to get a moment where Cookie was sitting on top of the massage chair..well literally on top as you can see in the photo down there.

it wasn’t perfect but it was worth it to at least give it a go to see how it turns out haha 🙂

STUDENT SUMMIT canva video

Hello people:)

today i am at South Hornby school learning about making movies with canva, there were 3 presenters introducing us to the mechanics and tools of canva to make a movie with.

i decided to make a movie about student summit….well, kind of ( except for the Parmesan cheese ) 🙂 the presenters had made a canva video/slideshow to show them ( canva tools and mechanics ) to us and we had a lot of fun, i decided to use the colour blue since the Wigram uniform is blue and also because i thought it was a good looking colour and it matched the theme i was going for.

I think i did well on the animations so basically the effects on the texts and elements, and i also think it was a great choice to make the text white because if it was another blue it would be kinda hard to see…BUT next time i think i should add another music theme because i didn’t have enough time to choose a good one sorry!

Phantom of terawhiti new book cover

WALT read and understand a whole novel

Hi people:)

This is my custom book cover based on the story so far, i made the text glow to make it more cinematic, i added the two servals  to represent Tasha and her son Alex that she cares about A LOT i decided to add am effect like the floating stuff on the top of the page that swirl around to give it more texture and i think it worked!

i think i did well on designing the effects and adding the two servals that represent Tasha And Alex, and also the glowing text i also think i did well on that too.

But maybe next time i should try to align the title to be symmetrical so that it wouldn’t annoy me that much haha.
