Weekly reflection Term 2 week 4

This is my week that was fun.

something that went well this week

something that went well this week was cooking because we made delicious burgers, first, we needed to make the patty which consisted of meat, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, egg yolk, crumbs and some Italian herbs.
we had to mix them together with a fork until it just looked like normal red meat and that there were no crumbs.

On the next day we took out the patties we frozed, it had been in the freezer overnight. We needed to out them in the oven and while the meat was baking we got all the ingredients we used for the burger, after the patty was baked and flipped, we assembled the burger and put them into the microwave to heat them up so that we could eat them.

 

Something that challenged me this week

something that challenged me this week was during P.E when we played a game where there were people on benches and players had to get the balls to their goals ( I forgot the name )

One thing I learned this week was

one thing I learnt this week was how to make burger during cooking which i will probably cook at home too.

Reflection

This week was enjoyable.

Netball went well on Tuesday this week because I really managed to run a lot and catch the ball and had fun on sports day, it was much better than last Tuesday because this time I knew what I was doing and tried hard to help the team I was in to score some goals. We lost in the end but what mattered the most was that we had fun and we all tried our best.

Something that challenged me was working on measuring and using the metric system, it  was challenging because this unit of maths  was still very new to me.

I learnt how to make AI music using SUNO AI during music, type in a prompt and then the AI will make 2 versions of that song for you.

My goal for this week is to achieve and work towards my goals from this term.

Waka hourua

this week and last week for social studies we have been working on making our very own Waka hourua! we had to use Popsicle sticks, paper straws, small sticks, and some others like a cloth and cardboard.

I was in charge of making the board of the Waka, so I glued 5 Popsicle sticks into a little flat board and  and glued them together….lets say it was not easy to cut of the ends of the popsicle sticks with scissors, so I recommended that we should buy a saw but judging from a teachers reaction I guess we should just scrap that idea.

Violet built a little house for the middle of the Waka while Riamme made the paddles and Andrea made the sails.

after a lot of hard work, my team and I….have finally finished…( i also made some emergency rails :> )

Hypothesis

I think the marble will roll further because the marble is more heavier thus making it roll further than the ping pong ball.

Steps

Get an egg carton or a flower pot tray, and then place the newspaper on the egg carton or a flower pot tray. Add something heavy on the edge if the newspaper is light in weight, and then….BAM!!! you have yourself a DIY ramp!

Conclusion

In conclusion, the hypothesis was correct.  I believe the marble rolled  further than the ping pong ball because it relied on the force of gravity to eventually allow the marble to accelerate faster.

Hypothesis (What I think will happen)

I think the big plane will fly further than the small plane, as the big plane has bigger wings which will make it fly further.

Background

The first paper plane was made around 200 years ago.

The longest distance ever flown by a paper plane was 88.1 metres.

There are four forces that act on the paper plane when it is flying.

  • Thrust how fast it is pushed
  • Lift how much wing area can be pushed up
  • Gravity, pulls the plane down
  • Drag, slows the plane down

Equipment

You will need

    1. A4 paper
    2. A5 paper
    3. chalk
    4. metre stick

Results

first throw : the small plane flew further than the big plane.

second throw: the big plane flew further than the small plane.

third throw: the big plane flew further than the small plane.

Conclusion

My hypothesis  was correct because the big plane flew further, I think that the big plane flew further because the big plane had bigger wings that might have gave a bigger platform for the air to push the plane further.

Name monster

hi people

this is my name monster, i thought that it looked like a mouse because of the c and also the other letters joined together looked like a dress since we had to write in cursive for this to be able to make a name monster.

i decided that the 2 lines under the arms would kind of be like a support for the bags because i feel like she would want to sell bags and purses to other people as a job maybe, and i think it turned out pretty well, it just looks a bit weird and unusual but there are like straps like a backpack for her to wear.

but i think i did well on designing the dress and the accessories because i really had to use my brain to think of something creative for her, but i should probably take the picture in a better location because its kind of hard to actually see the colours that i have added.

Kiwiana fish and chips slideshow

hi people 🙂

this is my Kiwiana slideshow, we are looking at fish and chips and its history.

i had to fill out some questions and make my own advertisement  / poster, i decided to draw a big bundle of fish and chips but it doesn’t really look like fish and chips in the photo but on paper it looks kind of like fish and chips…. 🙂 i added a fake phone number so that it actually looked like a real advertisement were you can go to but its not actually a fish and chips store.

i named it Fish chips and takeaway’s because i feel like a lot of people would also want other foods that aren’t fish and chips so, takeaways.

but i think next time i should take the photo in a lighter area so that its easier to see the writing and the picture since the picture should be the main focus of the advertisement / poster.
