MY rock quest stuff

What instrument would I play

I would play the electric guitar because It has always stood out among the other instruments I see, I really like how it can be used in a variety of different genres despite being an instrument usually used in rock.

What competition would I compete in?

I personally would sign up for Rock quest as I feel I might need a lot more practice since I’m still a beginner.

What genre would I play

I would play heavy metal because I feel like its something that would really get me pumped up.

How to make a paper plane scientific method test

Aim

the aim for this experiment is to teach the viewer how to make a paper plane!

how to make paper plane

Equipment you will need:]

1 sheet of A4 paper

Instructions ( might not be very clear so the video will explain better

1. Turn the piece of paper into portrait mode and fold it in half.

2. Then, Open up the paper where you folded.

3. Fold the top two sides aligned with the crease you have made.

4. Fold it in half again.

5. and then you will fold the wings by folding the left and right parts.

6. then you can do the experiment! ^_^

My Maths Journal

Intro

This is my first Mathematics blog for this term, I have completed chapter 1 of the Maths No Problem workbook and have just finished the revision section. Chapter 1 of the Maths No Problem program was all about rounding numbers and reading numbers,  so I’m quite excited about chapter 2 😀

Here are some questions that help us reflect on the work covered

Is it always appropriate to round numbers?

142 children attending a tournament, rounded to the nearest 100) I think you wouldn’t have to round these numbers because you would need the exact amount of students just in case somebody goes missing.

A population of 2387562 people, rounded to the nearest 100000 ) I think you would need to round this number because there are always people being born, people dying and people leaving the country, so the population increases and decreases constantly.

A salary of 34321, rounded to the nearest 10000 ) This also should not be rounded because it wouldn’t be fair and it would just make a lot of people angry. Gimme my exact salary!!!!

I can…

  • Read and write numbers to 10 million
  • tell the place value of a number
  • compare and order numbers up to 10 million
  • round number to the nearest 10, 100, 1000, 10000. 100000, and 1000000

conclusion

I really enjoyed working on the Maths No Problem work book, and I hope to do more of it soon!

The Scientific Method

What is the Scientific method?

The Scientific method is composed of six different steps, aim, hypothesis, method, results, conclusion, and discussion.

In this blog I will be informing you about the meaning of these words.

Aim

What is the point of the experiment? what are you trying to achieve? what is your main goal for the experiment? these are things that belong in the aim category, The aim is thinking about how you want the experiment to be like.

Hypothesis

A hypothesis is what you think will be the results for your experiment(s) E.g ” My hypothesis is that the results will be _____” Etc.

Think of a hypothesis as a logical and realistic guess.

Method

How are you going to achieve your aim? what equipment are you going to use? A method is the way you are going to perform the experiment, there are many different ways of doing different things.

Results

Results are what the outcomes will be, results may vary depending on the method used to perform the experiment. You might not always get the results you expected.

Conclusion

A conclusion is like a summary of your experiment, it includes whether your hypothesis was correct or incorrect, what you did to do the experiment, and how the experiment went.

Discussion

Discussion can be about comparing results to previous results, summarising the results, and analyzing them.

Silent movie blog

What are silent movies?

A silent movie is a movie or film that has no recorded audio, like audio dialogue, even though it’s called a silent movie, there are still sound effects and movies added to the film. some examples of a silent movie are, ‘The birth of a Nation’  ‘ The circus’  ‘The general’ ‘ The great train robbery; and other primary films ‘.

Sound waves.

Hello bloggers, today I’m going to explain sound waves and why a test tube with a smaller amount of water makes a deeper sound than the test tube with more water.

The test tube with more water has less space for the vibrations to travel through, and the test tube with less water has more space for the vibrations to travel through thus allowing it to have a much deeper sound compared to the test tube with more water.

Sound waves

sound waves are cause by the vibrations of certain things, for example, when you talk your voice box creates these vibrations that turns into sound waves, the sound waves then travel through your ear canal, into your eardrums, and into your brain. Sound is measured in decibels, and sometimes when the sound is too high in decibels it can create something called a shockwave, a shockwave is when something gets so loud that it can sharply affect the pressure of the air, making it create something like a big wave of strong wind.

Maths term 4 week 4

This week for maths we have been focusing on Algebra, well only until when the week was almost over… but still that still counts right?

Algebra is quite difficult for me to understand, and because of that  I decided to do ace in the meantime so that I can just get the hang of it and slowly move up to higher levels like pro, legend, or maybe even titan. we moved from geometry to algebra quite quickly so it was a bit confusing, but I ended doing not so bad at it.

I’ve completed the Ace questions so far and I’m contemplating about whether or not I should move up to pro or not, but most likely I will because I want to challenge myself a bit so I can do algebra questions more easily.

I tried my best and I’ve probably got some questions wrong, but that doesn’t matter since we’ve only just started to learn algebra and I can always correct those mistakes when I get better at it.

a + b = 15

My Maths learning this week.

This week I have learned how to multiply  columns with 2 digit by 2 digit numbers.

at first it was rather difficult for me to figure out because I felt like everything was just messy and everywhere, for example, ”Where does this number go?” ”What do we do with this number then???” “WHY IS THERE A ZERO????” so even after re watching the instructions video a dozen times…I decided to just try my best and solve the problems, and lets just say that I will never try to solve a problem without knowing the basics of how to…since I got them all wrong.

It’s the next day and this time I have decided to go to my teacher to ask for help, and oh boy should I have done that earlier.  I felt like the information was just suddenly manifesting in my brain, and everything was making sense to me now, now I know where ” that number” goes, and what to do with ”this number”, and I finally understood why there was a zero:)

But what matters was that I managed to understand how to do the work (even after failing) since failure is just a step to success.
